Contempo Designs is a furniture design studio that handcrafts pieces to match any home’s tempo. The brand aims to consistently create quality collections to suit most homes and provide easy access to design assistance for those who want highly customized pieces.

Contempo approached our team to create a lasting identity that visually reflects the idea of “contempo,” or designing pieces that can thrive no matter the decade. We started by thinking about the brand’s values and character, and created this narrative as our baseline for composing the visual identity.

Graphic Elements

The pattern elements take their forms from the brand’s logo, which not only contributes to visual consistency within the brand identity but also allows the spirit of the logo to be carried over to materials that may not necessarily feature it.

Posters

Posters allow the brand to experiment with the pattern placement and its relationship with other elements, like text and photography. The elements within the poster accentuate the furniture pieces, promotions, or announcements.

Stationary

Incorporating the brand’s patterns in a subtle way allows the brand’s identity to still translate on the stationery as a design element, while allowing text and content to stand out more.

Box Packaging

The packaging uses the deconstructed geometric forms of the logo as an homage to the brand’s vision of highly customizable and almost “DIY” furniture that customers can match to their own tastes and needs.

Shopping Bag

The shopping bag bears the brand’s patterns. This allows the bags to be easily customized with different pattern configurations to create a variety of designs.

Visual Treatment

Blending at-home and studio aesthetics, the visual treatment of the photos and videos helps audiences imagine pieces in their own spaces.

While maintaining a fun and vibrant feel, close up shots also highlight the quality, beauty, and functionality of each collection and piece.

Graphic Post

Engaging lifestyle-centric content bridges Contempo and their audience, allowing them to relate to the brand through gift guides, playlists, and more. Our team kept the messaging playful and the graphics colorful, but all digestible and clear at the same time.
