Brief

CDO is a renowned food brand for Filipino households, and the PINO team designed a brand refresh to celebrate the company’s 45th anniversary by honoring the company’s history while reimagining its mission of championing mealtimes. The new logomark is a contemporary take on the brand’s original silhouette, and was developed through conversation on how we can visualize “foodsphere,” which resulted in representing CDO as “a world that revolves around food.” The logotype, Brandon Grotesque, bridges the connection between past and present, translating the rounded ends of the previous design into modern and approachable rounded corners. As for the color palette, studies show that Filipinos associate hot, tasty food with warm colors, so we used a red and yellow scheme to capture the warm Filipino hospitality and evoke the maternal, inviting, and homey spirit that makes every CDO meal memorable.
